Óbidos is a Portuguese village in the Western sub-region and Central region. It forms part of the "Tourism Region of the West", with about 3 100 inhabitants. The name of Óbidos derives from the Latin oppidum and means "citadel", "fortified city". In its proximities is the Roman population of Eburobrittium. The village is about 75 km from the capital Lisbon.
